Frequently Asked Questions About Our Roofing Services
How long should a roof last?
The lifespan of a roof depends on several things, but most of all who installed it. The worst shingle installed correctly will last longer than the best shingle installed wrong. If BCD puts a new roof on your home, you should expect 30, 40, or even 50 worry-free years.
How long does the replacement process take?
A standard size roof 30 squares and under should take about a day to complete, this includes tear off, replacement, and clean up. We have a larger crew but, If your roof is larger and requires a 2 day process, we will never tear off what we can’t replace that day. This means when we leave at the end of the first day, your roof is secure and water tight until we return to finish the project the following day.
What type of ventilation should I put on my house?
The type of ventilation on your roof depends on how it’s built. If it is on trusses you may be able to add a ridge vent, but some houses can have ridge vent and some can not. If you have an overhang on your roof you can put in soffits for inhale, but you still need an exhale in the form of can vents. You can not put a ridge vent on a HIP roof. Can vents must be used in this instance.
